After-Sales CRM for Thermal and Cooling Products in Sweden

Klima Therm via Webmind

Klima-Therm AB is a leading supplier of refrigeration products and heat pumps for both residential and commercial properties in the Swedish market, with brands such as Fujitsu, Fuji Electric, Clivet, Emicon, MTA, Kaisai, Klimor, and more in its portfolio.

Klima-Therm's after-sales CRM existed but required fixes for several latency issues that had arisen due to the large amount of data accumulated over nearly a decade. It needed an overhaul, including migration to the latest .NET Core and database technologies, along with key architectural changes to make the system more scalable and adaptable.

We estimated the recoding of the system in .NET Core and began addressing bottlenecks and latency issues, while also making key architectural improvements.

We rebuilt the entire system, which comprised three major subsystems: the reseller website (running on an older version of Umbraco), the CRM, and the background services responsible for handling updates received from SAP.

We also added new features, the most significant being the Thermal Need Calculator, which uses tens of parameters to calculate a household’s heat usage requirements and suggests the appropriate equipment available for purchase to meet those needs.

Contributions to Umbraco Starter Kit and Plugins

Webmind

We contributed to adding features and fixes for Igloo, one of the best starter themes available for Umbraco CMS. Moreover, we helped build several Umbraco plugins, most notably the Cision and MFN news feed plugins, which we use on several of our customers’ websites.

Additionally, we developed an Umbraco plugin to introduce a new DataGrid data editor in the admin dashboard, allowing admins to input stock information and customize how that information is presented on the site (in charts and tables).

Target Reports: An e-commerce store for digital products

Apollo Research

Hundreds of reports in digital format (i.e., PDF) were generated automatically, identifying the key influencers who shape their target audience's opinions.

These reports provide insights into which individuals or sources are most influential within specific sectors and markets. By tracking these influencers and their impact on target demographics, PR and advertising teams can refine their strategies and stay ahead of shifting trends.

We built the e-commerce store to handle the complete sales workflow, allowing customers to use credit cards and other payment methods to quickly purchase and download the reports.

The reports were password-protected for users downloading them to prevent open distribution of these highly data-rich documents.

Within two months of the launch, sales exceeded several thousand pounds, which was incredibly satisfying and encouraging.

Hot Topics: Insights Into Tech-Related Topics

Apollo Research

The Hot Topics service is a specialized information tool designed for PR professionals in the tech industry. Its primary goal is to provide executives with insights into tech-related topics by tracking industry trends over customizable time periods. Users can analyze changes in media coverage, identify the companies most associated with specific topics, and pinpoint rising or declining trends. The service also allows users to focus on specific companies, compare up to five companies, and assess their prominence in key topics. The platform delivers actionable insights to enhance strategic decision-making in tech PR.

Along with the frontend app, an API was built to provide the data resources required by the app. The app displays selection controls and then presents results in the form of tables and other visualization charts for the user.

The app efficiently distills key information for PR professionals, boosting their marketing efforts. It also helped attract new users to the site, fostering new business relationships.

Twitter Monitoring System

Apollo Research

A Twitter crawler designed to traverse a list of Twitter accounts/handles and update their public information, including friends and followers. The crawler adds newly discovered friends and followers to the list for subsequent crawling, creating a never-ending chain reaction.

We built this system and code-named it Twitter Walker, the "infinite walker," to continuously discover and update information for millions of Twitter contacts. It has been in use for several years.

The system uses the Twitter API and respects its API limits to ensure the program runs indefinitely.

This system became the backbone of many other systems and reports due to the high quality and vast amount of information it gathered. It enabled the extraction of unique insights from the data, which we visualized through various other systems we built for our customers.

Artemis: Business Contact Finder Web App

Apollo Research

A gated system designed to quickly find key contact information for top management and other key players in the most relevant IT companies, industries, and topics.

The system makes intensive use of data visualization in the form of various charts, data tables with filters, and downloadable reports.

We built the system from scratch, starting with getting the specifications right after discussions with the client. This included defining the system's scope, choosing technologies, creating project estimates, and establishing an efficient workflow.

We frequently communicated progress and obtained the required feedback throughout the development process, up to the deployment of the system for public use.

In five months, we were able to make the software system available to customers, ensuring its usability, efficiency, and overall satisfaction

Customer Care Mobile Apps

Dubai telecom and digital government authority (TDRA) via MobileWeaver

Multi-platform apps (Apple, Android, Windows Phone, BlackBerry) for TDRA were built to offer various customer care services, including spam reporting and blocking, mobile registration inquiry, and helpline access for mobile users in Dubai.

We took the lead in architecting these apps, starting by attending relevant courses to learn new technologies to be used for the apps and then kicking off the development work.

Regular meetings were conducted to report progress, receive feedback, and make adjustments accordingly.

All four apps were deployed to their respective app stores for public use.

Developer Knowledgebase

Saudi Telecom (STC) via MWANMobile

Saudi Telecom (STC) launched its own mobile app store and wanted to help developers leverage their platform to earn reputation and money. They required our help to develop a portal to assist developers in creating mobile apps easily by following tutorials and guides on how to quickly start developing mobile apps.

We were chosen for the reputation we had built for our quality and integrity.

Drupal, a PHP-based CMS, was a newer technology for us as a team. We initiated Drupal training to assist all team members in contributing to the project.

We coded complex system logic and templates that were later used by other content editors to finish similar parts of the system.

Mobile App Store

Saudi Telecom via MWANMobile

A mobile app store for both desktop and mobile. Saudi Telecom (STC) wanted to encourage mobile developers to build, showcase, and sell their apps on the mobile app store we developed for them.

We built two web apps—one for desktop and one for mobile browsers—each with a different codebase. We developed most of the UI and interactivity for both web apps. Regular meetings with the project owner from STC were held to demonstrate progress, receive feedback, and make adjustments accordingly.

We delivered the apps in time and according to customer demands and satisfaction, which enabled us to win several other great projects from STC.

SMS Campaigns via Mobile Short Codes Subscriptions

Vodafone Qatar via MWANMobile

A backend service that received SMS messages from customers sent to designated short codes. Our system would process these messages and respond based on the type and format of the message received. For example, the system could subscribe a customer to receive live updates and results for FIFA World Cup matches on their mobile phones.

We managed several different clients as a subcontractor for Vodafone Qatar, handling subscription services, including sending the appropriate content to customers based on their subscription type. Live football and cricket matches, as well as games played on TV shows, are just a few of the many events we managed through our system.

We also provided Vodafone Qatar with tools to oversee all the requests and responses processed by our system and offered an efficient way to download reports and logs.

We maintained the system to ensure excellence and continuous improvement, adding new features such as the reporting subsystem, which became an integral and frequently used component of the system.

We successfully handled numerous live campaigns on behalf of Vodafone Qatar, reliably delivering content to subscribed customers. Additionally, we provided Vodafone with accurate reports to monitor all traffic and other key data points.

Online Marketplace

Papkassen

An online web app allowing users to list free ads for their products and enabling buyers to communicate, negotiate, and close deals effectively.

Our primary responsibility was to ensure the system was cross-browser compatible. This involved resolving all visual and functional discrepancies found during testing on various browsers, including IE, Firefox, and Safari.

We communicated directly with the client to gather and understand their requirements and translate them into a functional backend web app that gave business owners the ability to manage all aspects of the system, including domain data and business reports.

We were also responsible for integrating cross-cutting features such as user authentication between the backend and frontend/WordPress apps.

Subscription-based VoIP Mobile Calling System

ZeroCall

A platform for customers to self-manage their subscription choices, top up call balance through the web portal, and use designated SMS short codes. Customers could also view key reports on the international calls they made using the provided SIMs.

We were required to build two web applications: a customer landing site to allow customers to subscribe and order SIMs that they could insert into their phones to make calls, and a backend system for business owners to manage customers, reporting, and other system features.

Integrating these two systems was challenging, as the frontend site and backend web apps used different programming frameworks, i.e., WordPress and Symfony, respectively. We had to enable session-sharing and other cross-cutting features to provide a seamless experience for customers.
